I had hoped that you would live happily ever after in your tiny house. I think that it is the most functional one that I have ever seen. I sure wish this country would let people live within their means like they did for centuries. Now, zoning, inspections and snobbery leave no place for old cowboys to survive. When I was a boy, there were small cabins all over the country where an old guy could finish out his days....now they just want you to go away....where?! My grandfather's house burned down in 1934 and he built a tar-paper shack. My Dad was 8 then and had fond memories of rolling out of bed right to the breakfast table. Grandpa went on to be a prosperous man, but if he had lived today, they wouldn't have permited the shack until he got back on his feet. I loved your story and your little house. I hope somehow to build one someday....but the problem is where will they let me put it? Best wishes.... ---Sage

Thanks for posting your build. Been watching "Tiny House Nation" & reading"Tiny House Living: Ideas For Building and Living Well In Less than 400 Square Feet - Ryan Mitchell", great book which has answered lots of questions. Been considering a budget of $30k and incredible that you have been able to build one for $5k. What is surprising that most builders seem to want about $60k for complete builds. Sadly these do not hold resale value.
